The boat is designed for deep sea fishing. As such it has a higher freeboard, wider beam, beefier hull and equipment, built in bait wells and catch basins, a closed cooled engine system and deep vee hull. I have found this vessel to be an ideal compromise for a cruising couple, who like an open cockpit for lounging and cruising while maintaining a cabin for sleeping out of the elements. It is economical as far as boats go, getting between 2 and 3MPG at cruising speeds.
The boat is considered to be in good to very good to for its age. I am the third owner (as of 2/2001) and the first owner to leave it in water. Exterior decking and upholstery is in very good condition with a few scratches to the deck and very two small rips to the upholstery. The cabin interior is in clean condition with minor fading and a stain from the dye on a sleeping bag. Mechanically is good to very good condition, with the reliable Volvo 275 outdrive getting it’s first complete rebuild last season ($2800.00), the engine been tuned up and doesn’t burn any oil. Like all boats there is always work to be done, an electrical switch here a, a bolt tightened there, but the boat is in the water and ready to enjoy.
This is an excellent boat for the money. I have just purchased a larger boat, and am looking to sell quickly, so I have set my negotiable asking price at $6500.00, which is well below the lower end of BUC book price for this model in average condition ($6800 to $7800 USD). Since I believe the boat to be in above average condition, it should be priced as a good value for the purchaser.
Interested parties can contact me email at sailbad_d_sinner@hotmail.com or via phone at 216-849-8468, leaving a message regarding the boat and an appropriate time to call back if I am unavailable. Please be aware I may not answer any inquiries until Tuesday September 3rd, as I will be taking this boat accross Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair up to Port Huron and back, for her last major voyage under my command.
